Foundations of Human Movement –
Developmental & Psychological Themes
Saturday 6th June 2020: Attachment & Separation: Early patterns of bonding and assertion. Workshop now happening online.
Saturday 4th July 2020: The Layered Self: The Emerging and Core Self coming into being. Workshop now happening online.
Be guided through a series of movement explorations in your own home. Come together online to share experiences and ask questions.
Learn about some of the fundamental foundations of human movement development in the first months of life. Learn about some of the emotional and psychological themes established as we begin to move, responding to gravity and our growing sense of self.
Take some time for yourself to find your ground, move, stretch and connect with resources for everyday life. The day will include movement, mark making, writing and sharing. Some teacher demonstrations and short film may be included.
No experience necessary, just an interest in exploring your own movement. You’ll simply need a space that is quiet, private and clear enough for you to lie and roll on the floor at home, a blanket and whatever paper/art materials you have to hand. Breaks will be taken through the day as negotiated in the group.
The workshop draws on material from the IBMT Diploma programme. It is open to all, as well as those interested in the Somatic Psychology Module (starting Autumn 2020) and Infant Movement Development (starting Autumn 2021).
Open to those interested in exploring movement for learning, health and well-being: including Physical Therapists, Bodyworkers, Dancers, Yoga practitioners, Therapists, and those working with babies and young children.
