A One Day Introduction to Somatic Psychology – South Devon, UK. Fully Booked.
These one day workshops are for those interested in joining the diploma module that starts in October 2023 or for those with a general interest in the IBMT approach. See full details of the module here: https://ibmt.co.uk/somatic-psychology/
Somatic Psychology offers a number of maps to enable us explore and understand the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of being an embodied human. It gives students an understanding of the unconscious material held in the body and frameworks for personal development and work with others.
The IBMT approach integrates Infant Movement Development and Embodied Anatomy with a range of psychological perspectives, from our embryological beginnings, through the embodiment of our body systems, psychological development of self, relational patterns and experience of trauma.
On introductory day you will have the chance to explore your own movement and share with others in relation to the themes:
- mind, body and feeling (from our embryological foundations)
- the development of our sense of self (related to infant movement development)
The day will include guided movement explorations, mark making and sharing experience with others.
